Preterm delivery in a 33-year-old pregnant woman with monkeypox virus infection

Introduction: Monkeypox is a viral illness caused by an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus that belongs to the genus orthopoxvirus in Poxviridae family. Until now, available data on perinatal outcomes pregnant people with monkeypox infection acquired pregnancy are still limited. Case Report: We report case of 33-year-old woman confirmed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) skin lesions. She had spontaneous preterm delivery at 32 weeks’ gestation. The lesions occurred 20 gestation, cleared 24 and infant was well birth no evidence infection. Conclusion: This underlines possible association between birth, which leading cause neonatal morbidity mortality.
